What dog makes a better jogging/running companion?

I got 2 dogs, a 7 month old Boxer and a 6 year old Cocker Spaniel, I’m deciding to jog/run every morning at 6. Which dog in your opinion should I take as a jogging companion? My Boxer or Cocker, keep in mind I can’t take both!

Alternate. They might not like it much when its the others turn but at least you can enjoy running with each one and they both get the exercise.

Boxer for certain. However, watch the heat because boxers are less tolerant and can develop breathing problems if overheated. Take plenty of water!

I would take the cocker to begin with, as the boxer is still a bit too young to take vigorous exercise.

However, when the boxer is old enough (Probalby 12-18 months) he will be the far better jogging companion, and you still probably won’t tire him out.

I think that a cocker would have a much harder time keeping up with you jogging. No way is the boxer too young to go jogging, unless you are scared of it pulling you around. The boxer would enjoy the jog more than the cocker, I think, unless they are not usual dogs for the breed they are. If you are not going far, why not take both? I used to have a cocker and german shepherd dog and took them both, but neither of them could keep up on a jog, esp if it was hot outside. Dogs like to run when it is dark out, I think it’s more exciting for them lol! Hope this helps!
