Why are my tiger barbs swimming vertically with their head down?
I’ve sometimes seen them with their heads up, but most of the time it’s with their head down. They still seem to be swimming actively.

its possible they have swim blader disease which makes their blader more bouyant and they might die.
im not sure how to cure it though.
but who knows it could just be the way they swim.
it is proboly swim blader disease , the only thing i can think of that would help is to feed your fish thawed crushed peas, this helps with constapation. if this continues untreated the fish will most definitly die within the a few days.
Mine do that sometimes too.
I was a bit concerned at first too, but they have been doing it for a year or so now. As soon as food appears or another barb chases them they buck up and swim straight.
I think they are just resting.
