How can you have an abortion without your parents knowing?

I am not pregnant and if i were I would not get an abortion , but I was wondering there is a way to have an abortion method you could use without self-harm or your parents/guardians knowing. Please no Pro-life comments, because I’m only OK with it if it was a rape baby or a very young person. So, please none of that! Thank you!

Make sure you’re in a state without too many republicans – they always LOVE to pass nasty little laws limiting your reproductive freedoms. Otherwise, go to Planned Parenthood and ask them about it. There is no reason to contact your parents.

Assuming you’re in Canada, I suggest you book an appointment with your family doc as soon as possible. Don’t worry about your parents finding out, appointments are confidential. Then you can discuss whether you would like to have a surgical abortion, or a pill-induced one. Both cost a couple hundred dollars, so be prepared to pay around $350 to $750. By law, your doctor can’t tell your parents anything.

Most’ clinics make arrangements for girls who don’t want their parents to know. We do at ours. A lot of the time it only shows on insurance as “gyn services” so you can just tell them you had a pelvic exam or such. You can’t do it yourself tho, you need it done professionally. But, its very common. I realize you aren’t pregnant – but its normal to be very curious about abortion. If you, or anyone else is, feel free to contact me on messenger – I work at a clinic and I can answer any questions you have about how it works.

http://www.plannedparenthood.org/ would be able to refer someone to a clinic and also counsel them about the rules in effect in their state. Some states require parental notification, but usually have some sort of waiver that the court can issue.

there is no such thing as a healthy and safe abortion. and just to let you know, only 1 percent of all rape victims get pregnant.

What state do you live in?

The rules about abortion are different depending on where you live. In some states, minors can legally get an abortion without telling their parents. In other states, there are parental consent or parental notification laws. Parental consent means that you will need to get permission from a parent if you are under a certain age, usually 18. Parental notification means that you will have to tell a parent if you are under a certain age, usually 18, but you don’t need their permission to have an abortion; you just need to tell them about your decision to abort the pregnancy. You can still get an abortion, even if your parents object to it.

This website lists all of the parental consent and parental notification laws for every state in the U.S. as of February 2011:
    http://www.positive.org/Resources/consent.html

If you are thinking about an abortion and live in a state where there is a parental consent/parental notification law, it’s a good idea to call a clinic in your state (or call the toll-free Abortion Hotline at 1-800-772-9100) and talk with someone about your options. Usually you can get around telling your parents by going to a clinic in a state without these restrictions, or by explaining your situation to a judge (this is called a judicial bypass). But this can take time, so call right away.

The process for getting a judicial bypass is different in each state and can be complicated. For advice on how to go about getting a judicial bypass for an abortion, look here:

I hope that helped to answer your question.

If you are sexually active (or planning to be), then the best way to prevent an unwanted pregnancy is to get on some form of birth control before you start having sex. Most birth control pills are over 98% effective in preventing pregnancy as long as they are used as directed. You can get a birth control prescription quickly and easily; either make an appointment with your regular family doctor and simply request a birth control prescription, or go to your local Planned Parenthood health care center. You can get birth control from Planned Parenthood quickly, easily, and inexpensively. Remember, always use protection when having sex if you want to avoid an unplanned and unwanted pregnancy. It’s ALWAYS better to be safe than sorry!

So you consider the fetus to be human unless it’s the product of a rape or is being carried by a teenager…in these cases it’s just a fetus…Funny how the infant’s humanity is solely based on the circumstances of its conception. Yep, that logic isn’t flawed at all. lol.
